Cake:

1 Box Pumpkin Spice Cake Mix (we used Krusteaz pumpkin spice cake mix)

2 Tbsp Déjà Vu Sauce

1 Large Apple (we use Honeycrisp), diced small 

 

Follow package instructions on your favorite pumpkin spice cake mix, adding Deja Vu sauce and diced apples with wet ingredients.  

 

Tip: we also like to add 1 extra egg to boxed mix recipes.  It gives the cake a lighter, more airy texture!

 

Cream Cheese Frosting: 

8oz Cream Cheese

4 oz Butter (softened to room temperature)

1 tsp Vanilla

1 cup Powdered Sugar

1 Tbsp Déjà Vu sauce

 

Place all ingredients into a bowl and whip with electric beaters until light and fluffy.

Pipe frosting onto cupcakes using a piping bag fitted with a wide star tip.
